These terms
These terms apply when you buy from b.lo.c studio, the studio of Bryce Lowe-White, Los Angeles, California. Placing an order means you accept them. If something here does not sit right, write to hello@belowseastudio.com before you order rather than after.
What is for sale
Two things, and they are different:
- Open edition prints. Archival fine art paper prints, made to order, in the sizes listed on each piece. Not numbered and not limited in quantity.
- Limited edition framed canvases. Canvas giclée in a pine wood floater frame, in numbered editions — 25 at Petite, 15 at Grand, 5 at Collector. These are arranged by enquiry rather than bought from the cart, and the terms of each sale are confirmed in writing before payment.
Edition sizes are stated on the piece and will not be exceeded. Once an edition closes it stays closed.
Prices and payment
Prices are in United States dollars and exclude shipping and sales tax, both of which are calculated at checkout before you pay. Payment is taken by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.
We try to keep every price correct. If a piece is listed at an obviously wrong price, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than honour it.
Orders
Your order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when the work is dispatched, not when payment is taken. Until then we may decline it and refund you in full — if the work cannot be produced to standard, for example, or if an edition has closed.
Made to order
Nothing here sits in a warehouse. Each print is made when you order it, which is why the work holds its quality and why a change of mind cannot simply be restocked. See Shipping & Returns for what that means in practice.
How the work will look
These are photographs taken underwater on 35mm film. Grain, softness and shifts of colour are part of the work rather than faults in it.
Screens vary, and no screen shows a print exactly. Colour on your monitor is an approximation. If exact colour matters to your project, ask us before ordering and we will talk it through.
Copyright
Every photograph on this site remains the copyright of Bryce Lowe-White. Buying a print buys the physical object and the right to display it privately or in your own premises. It does not transfer copyright or grant any right to reproduce, scan, photograph for commercial use, print again, or license the image.
For editorial, commercial or exhibition use, write to us. We are usually glad to say yes to something considered.
If something goes wrong
If a print arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, we will put it right — see Shipping & Returns.
Beyond that, our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited — and nothing here affects consumer rights that your local law gives you regardless of what a contract says.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and the courts of Los Angeles County have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of your own country’s mandatory consumer law.
Changes
We may revise these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and the date at the top tells you which that was.
